PROCESS MANAGEMENT
'Life Cycle Thinking' is our approach to reduce the environmental impact of a car in each every stage of its lifecycle. This is where we control and improve the environmental quality of the production and distribution chains of our products, their consumption and end-of-life treatment. We believe that the car of the future – safe, intelligent, with a low impact on the environment – can come to life only in a context that is sustainable in terms of both structures and processes. All Fiat Group Automobiles plants (save for two small, recently acquired sites now undergoing certification) work according to an environmental management system certified for conformity to ISO 14001. Minimising the environmental impact at our plants enables us to: use less energy and natural resources; reduce pollutant and noise emissions; increase the proportion of materials recycled; improve the working environment; eliminate the conditions that may lead to environmental incidents.
