Start&Stop
We have always thought that simple solutions are the best solutions. This is the reason why we have adopted the Start&Stop system: when the vehicle is stationary, this device turns the engine off temporarily and then starts it again as necessary. In conditions of congested traffic and repeated stops at traffic lights, this solution ensures circa 10% fuel saving (used in conjunction with the Dualogic gearbox). We believe that a continuous use of the Start&Stop system – to be adopted throughout the range starting with the new 500 - can make an appreciable contribution to the reduction of CO2 emissions. In accordance with our philosophy to make leading-edge solutions available to all, we intend to provide practical solutions that may be used widely, especially in city areas.
