Among such initiatives, eco:Drive is the innovative and exclusive system that analyses your vehicle’s fuel consumption and emission levels in relation to your driving style and is currently available on Fiat 500 and Grande Punto models (save for the Grande Punto Natural Power) equipped with the Blue&MeTM system. As a result of a project conducted in collaboration with Microsoft, eco:Drive is the fruit of extensive research work and highly sophisticated technologies, specially designed to address environmental concerns. And now eco:Drive is ready to revolutionise the relationship between driving and the environment. While you are driving, eco:Drive gathers all the data associated with the use of your vehicle. Thanks to a USB port and a normal pen drive, you can transfer the data and download it into any computer. From the data collected while you drive, the eco:Drive system is able to determine and display the environmental performances of your car, including CO2 emissions per trip, it analyses your driving style and offers tips on how improve fuel economy and reduce emission levels. With eco:Drive you will get a better understanding of your car and how it works, and will be able to make some adjustments to the way you drive, so as to reduce the quantity of fuel consumed and its impact on the environment. This is why we want to give you 9 simple tips that you should follow to become a true eco:Driver. Tips for eco:Drivers: Accelerate gently. Shift into a higher gear as soon as possible. Maintain a moderate speed, as constant as possible. Drive in an attentive, gentle manner, avoid abrupt braking and needless gear changing. Turn off the engine whenever you can. Change the oil on a timely basis, make sure exhausted oil is disposed of correctly. Maintain the appropriate tyre pressure. Remove heavy objects such as ski carriers or luggage racks as soon as you have finished using them.
